On a beautiful September afternoon last year, Helen and Raymond were honored to have you attend our marriage. We welcomed young and old, new and not-so to our home here in Moodus. Thank you for making it such a special day!
"Does it count as a Labor Day Weekend?" (overheard)
"Maybe? It is THAT weekend."
"Will there be a softball game on Sunday?"
Under the incomparable leadership of MB, wedding prep and set up were a group event, featuring MB on arbor and shamrock/birch table arrangements, helped by the Alex-Alex team, Xanthe on graphics, boys and Katia on glass/napkins, Michael on mums, Anne/Rich on charcuterie, Nik and others on all else! Thank you for helping hands and strong arms -- it takes a village!
With all assembled, thanks to the superb driveway detail, we were ready to get started with the ceremony. The procession included Best Men, sons Matt and Nick Comstock, MOH Mary Beth Milas, flower grandchildren Rayleigh Rose and Breyden. Katia and Nik walked Helen down the aisle. Rabbi Joshua Chasan (Raymond's brother-in-law) officiated in our secular ceremony.
The ceremony included a reading by Huck, a guitar solo by Max, and a thoughtful convocation by the Rebbe, followed by vows and rings. This is a moment we will remember forever -- surrounded by family and friends -- our hearts are one. Love is all around!
The Charovs. The Nick Comstocks. The Matt Comstocks. Cousins Peggy and Susan, Sister Kathy and Brother-in-Law Rabbi Joshua Chasan, Brother Eugene, Cousin Anna, grandsons Max, Breyden, and Derek, and of course, Uncle Mikey!
From the first dance ("They Tried to Tell us We're Too Young,") to the toasts, to the traditional "Charochka," and then on to dining and dancing, a fantastic time was had by all!
The very best part was bringing together our families and friends, old and new, young and young at heart! Thank you all for making our wedding a weekend to remember.
Just when we didn't think our Wedding Day could get much better, Nik surprised us (at least Helen) with a two-week honeymoon in Ireland, leaving in 8 days! THANK YOU! THANK YOU to everyone who chipped in to make this dream come true. With Ray expertly driving on the left side of the road, we visited Dublin, Westport, The Cliffs of Mohar, Limerick (Nana Comstock home town), Killarney, and The Dingle Peninsula. No rain! Lots of Guinness and trad music in the pubs among the friendliest of people made for an unforgettable trip in September, 2022. Our trip diary is available for details.
The summer of 2023 was filled with other weddings, honeymoons and travel for many, but we've started thinking about August 30 - September 1, 2024? Who's in?
